A trio of beautiful trunks….
For long sea voyages or a bride’s dowry….?
This is my cherished little 19th century Swedish box…
It’s not easy imitating aged wood and layers of old paint…that trace of other lives that linger in the details…

My favorite antiques…beautiful and simple…with perhaps a bit of a story!
I just checked out the trunk. It is in unbelievably good condition with all of the iron strap work intact. You must buy it. I have so many 18th c. Spanish trunks (one of my many passions) that I just cannot.
Thanks for the heads up.
Happy St. Patricks Day.

I don’t have a trunk but I bought an old cabinet when I lived in SE Asia and the back of the cabinet was made from an old shipping container which was covered with shipping documents dating over 100 years. It is quite an unusual piece and has been a talking point. It is beautifully inlayed with different woods and has brass butterflies for the hinges of the little doors at the front.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful trunk, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it.

Are you going to buy the trunk Trish? It’s stunning and would be perfect in your home and it’s a great price I say go for it.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Hi Debra. Alas, no. My husband always says “we have no room” and up to now…I’ve always managed to squeeze one more thing in! Believe me…I’ve tried to rationalize where I could put it! So…in the end…I put it on the blog!
Hi! Yours has been one of my favorite blogs for some time now. Somehow I accidentally “unfollowed ” you. I can’t figure out how to sign up again to receive your blog posts by email. Can you assist, please? Thanks!
Oh how stunning – just gorgeous! I love the floral scrollwork on that piece, WOW!!!!
