Quick update from earlier post here.
Fully functional…but still on lookout for a few extra “found” pieces. Might bow to wisdom of glass shower enclosure…but loving the gauzy linen shower curtain for now. Removed standard counter to ceiling mirror to replace with something…different. As I said…”found”. So still looking. Venetian mirror stays…love it just propped on counter between sinks. Tried dark gray on cabinets, but redid in creamy white to allow me to change my color palate on a whim. So, as usual, to be continued….
Gah what a lovely space!
ah, trish. you do it so well. lovely colors, stones and textures. this will be a wonderful sanctuary…donna
Keep the shower curtain. Looks great and the glass enclosure will feel so cold and modern. Beautiful tile work and the Turkish sink for towels is such a perfect touch.
It seems not many people can wait these days. THey want it done all at once…Your patience to find just the right mirror, etc. will be rewarded, I’m sure.
Cheers,
John
I vote for the shower curtain-delicious bathroom. xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
Wow Trish your bathroom looks wonderful I love the marble you chose. I know how much you search for just the right piece and your Venetian mirror hits the mark right on, it’s stunning. I know the glass shower door can feel modern, I did it in a 220 year old house and it works, but with the right mix of antiques it will look stunning. Great job!
Trish,
I just finished our guest bath using carrara and white…great minds…! I love your gauzy linen shower curtain. I too opted out of the frame-less door, at least for now. Grand babies bathe in that bathroom and it’s easier to accommodate her and her mama if there is no shower door.
Your room looks to have a little more space then my postage stamp sized room. A little antique piece would be wonderful.
Karen
Hi Karen. Pretty small for a master (9 ft square!) but I’m glad I kept the double sinks and skipped trying to squeeze a tub in. Makes it feel bigger. Have this pipe dream of bumping the house out so I can add a tub!
I have been using a gauzy shower curtain on my new amazing shower (golden onyx and limestone with lots of details and a window) for 5 months now and somehow I am also not feeling inspired to get the glass door.
Oh, how beautiful! This is a space to adore. I would never want to leave. You did a lovely job of designing it.
Nancy
I love your bathroom–every element is perfect. Thanks for sharing. Mary
Lovely bathroom! Love the marble bench top too, perfection! xo
The bathroom turned out beautifully, Trish! I love the tile work.
You seem to be in a good place!
Trish, I love the marble, being Italian and all !!! It turned out lovely and I am lovin’ the shower curtain also. The Venetian mirror is perfect, adds nice sparkle to the cool, smooth marble. I am opting out of having a tub as well when we do our reno, in lieu of a larger shower. As we get older it seems to make more sense. Also really love the marble vanity top for the sink. It resemble a vintage dry sink, only more lovely. N. xoxo
Your bath is so beautiful, Trish, but then I’m not surprised knowing who designed it. I haven’t been won over by a lot of the marble baths I’ve been seeing, but yours is really special.
Loving every detail and with your fine eye you are sure to find the perfect elements to finish it off in true Trouvias style!

Hmm, I commented a day or so ago but was interrupted by a phone call and realized I hadn’t hit “post comment”!
My goodness, your fine eye for detail shows in every element of your beautifully designed bath.
The marble is perfect and I am knocked out by the gorgeous venetian mirror. I don’t know how you do it, Trish….everything is always perfect and beautiful!
How did I miss this coming out party? The beautiful simplicity hides the hours of sweating the small stuff to making this do over look simply elegant. Anyone with a glass shower enclosure has way too much time on their hands (or at last weekly help!) I say stick with being a material girl. Great job!
I really have to know where you got that crazy vase? Is it a vase? The white one, with the fella on the elephant.
It’s by Astier de Villatte…here
Yes…a vase. Ever ready for the odd rose or two~
Thank you! I found a US retailer here: http://www.suefisherking.com/pro_collectiontypes/product/568
A bit out of my price range but so lovely to look at, as is the Astier de Villatte website, thanks so much for the great find!
Hi again Kelly! That Sue Fisher King website is great. I was lucky to buy mine a few years ago when the dollar was better, and the shop (Summer House in Mill Valley, Ca.) had a sale! I’ve occasionally seen a piece on Ebay…but rarely. Anthropologie sometimes has similar and better priced looking white pieces.
Thanks for the kind and helpful message, I think I really must save my pennies for the elephant vase, I’m so smitten with it! It reminds me of a cross between old staffordshire and an antiquity of unknown origins (etruscan style perhaps?). Loving your blog, just discovered it a couple of days ago, it’s really wonderful!
