On the ironing board…Bella Notte (what else!) and an antique French “drap” from Karin.
I had my eye on this beauty since last May, and finally just put myself out of my
misery and bought it. The embroidery is huge…6.5″ X 11″ and the color…a slightly
toasted neutral. Divine…and heavy. More about “Karin from Périgord” on previous post.
Love starting the New Year strong…and busy…
And shaking up old routines a bit…
Back soon…
hello dear Trish!
lovely post with beautiful images as always..I simply can not understand how any body can not fall in love with old vintage French linen and that monogram OF COURSE!!
in our home we only use old linen that we find in our travels, and even my dear husband who is not easy to please, love’s to sleep under one of these linen ones with the weight – sheet. sometimes I even wrap myself in it down to the pool as a wrap and towel. works perfect. have a lovely weekend Colette x

The only words that apply are “absolutely beautiful”–thanks for sharing.
Hi neighbor! Isn’t this weather a treat for Jan? Perhaps we’ll cross paths one of these days? Happy New Year!
French embroidery gets me every time. I used to hand embroider and bought lots of books while in France to inspire me. Wish I had bought more beautifully embroidered linens!
Thanks for sharing a little lovely on laundry day!

Absolutely wonderful! Love the Linen!!
The only missing piece of perfection: someone else to do the ironing! Love monograms…a short story on art, no?
ps How did that date with the dye guy go? Are you in slipcover heaven?
Hi Trish, gorgeous example of a monogram. It will look lovely where ever you decide to use it. You have inspired me to rifle through my boxes and boxes of linens, pulled out all my monogrammed pieces and guess what, I am ironing them!!! Perfect time, gray January days here at home. Between struggling to set up a blog and ironing does it get any more exciting than that!!! I have also been going through all my gardening books, now that is total bliss!!
Oh, I forgot, stripping wallpaper is tons of fun too. Nella
Amazing and truly gorgeous details!!!
I could easily LOVE wash day if I had beauties like that to wash!…. Vanna

This sheet is a real beauty Trish, and of course your photo captures it perfectly. I’m sure there are magazines who come to you for inspiration rather than the other way around.

Hi Trish,
you make wash day look like heaven……
I love my French draps de mariage….so I made a loose cover for my bed headboard.
You made me order the Bella Notte linen from overseas, inspired by your former posts….and I love the.
There is no else as lovely as them and they match the french sheets perfectly in structures.
I guess I have some laundry to do again…..I’ll put some lavender into it and dream of France!
