Hi JV. I like both sample walls I’ve done…sigh. Tomorrow I’ll strip the room down, prime, do the limewash on all walls, then add a diluted coat of the Feather Gray/White Heron mixture as a final coat. (The limewash is reading much cooler than the Feather Gray wall). Hoping I can put the room back together by Wednesday!
Now that was a lovely set of images for a Sunday afternoon! Thanks Trish!
I would love to take a nap right about now on those delicious Belle Notte linens….
yummy! 🙂
Trish, I adore Carolyn Quartermaine + everything else you’ve shown us today. I, too, will be dying to see the finished paint. I have no idea how you do all of this work. I would have an army of people helping me as I sat, helpless, giving helpful suggestions. When designing my jewelry I make a small portion of what I have in mind myself. Then, my ladies do the actual work…though today I’ve been working on a beautiful Jade, Green Tourmaline, Peridot 5-stranded necklace…and have enjoyed very much seeing my design come to life.
Now a little after 5 pm, it is 101 with a heat index of 110. All of these cool grays are like a dip in the pool. Loved the silver-leaf chest…the ginormous cabbage unfurling its petticoats, and the promise of a Trouvais gray room.
Hi Kathy. You need to prime with a “lime proof undercoat sealer”…here‘s the Sdyney Harbour Paint site. Hope to get alot done tomorrow…and will break down the process, the colors, when I’m finished.
Trish, I’m amazed that you have done all this and still have time to blog, but we are all so glad that you do. Hang in there. You are doing a beautiful job. Mona
I love the paint color… and the silver leaf chest of drawers… and the cabbage.. … and the lavender hedge….and all the ruffles!
LOVE it ALL! Beautiful pictures.
Such a soothing and subtle shade of gray. So neutral but also helps give pieces a beautiful look when added, such as the shell mirror. Love it. Don’t like to eat cabbage but love the picture. Love everything about your blog.
Trish you are killing me! Such beautiful ideas and inspiration… as for the lavender, I cannot get enough of this scent.
I keep taking snippets from my Mother’s garden for my little vase 🙂
I hope you had a perfectly lovely weekend, my friend…
Hello at last. Summer has flown by (if you could call it that)but I do visit you often just haven’t had time to stop and talk. Hope all is well with you.

Trish: What a gorgeous website. I am dying…dying…dying to know the variety of the lavender hedge. I tried to make a container lavender hedge this summer–disaster–wrong kind of lavender. There seemed to be a shortage of it in town this year! If you have the time please let me know. We’ll be back for more, come visit us!
Have a lovely Sunday as well Trish!
By the way – the ‘gray wall’on the first image is the perfect gray for me! Very natural with an authentique look.
Best wishes from Périgord – karin
Happy Sunday to you too Trish! That’s the biggest cabbage I’ve ever seen!
Beatutiful images on a grey Sunay.
That lavender hedge…perfection.
Love that lavender hedge, it’s just beautiful! I can’ smell from here!
Happy I found your blog!

Trish, I think the lime-washed gray is perfect. In the photo it has just the tiniest shade of lavender – just like the cabbage and well….the lavender!
Is this your final choice? Can’t wait to see the finished room….

Even subconsciously…I go for the ruffles….even on cabbage! It must be the Blanche DuBois in me!
I’m loving the lavender hedge! Shades of green, blue (lavender), and white- my favorites! Beautiful images- thanks for sharing!
Trish,
I’ve read that lime wash is unsuitable for drywall; are your walls plaster?
Any tips for using the lime wash? It looks fabulous…
