Bouiliabaise and Clafouti on the menu tonight…
Sure wish I had this dress…the shoes…
perhaps the puppy….
Marie-Paule Pelle …from earlier post here
Happy La Fête Nationale to the French and French minded…
and anyone that wants an excuse to celebrate…
Bon Appetit! (why do I always hear that in
Julia Child’s lilting voice?)
We were in Cannes for the month of July a few years ago and had the incredible privilege & great pleasure of watching fireworks over the water. We were seated on the beach for a formal dinner at one of the lovely restaurants there. There were 100’s of huge beautiful yachts gathered further off-shore, behind the firework barges, and each time the sky lit up we could see all the cheering people onboard. Must have been 500,000 people lining the streets too. Simply splendid and a wonderful treat. Happy Bastille Day !!
What a wonderful story Marsha! Thank you so much for sharing…another daydream for my collection!
Happy Bastille Day to you!
Oh, that dress – it’s incredible! I’ll take the dress and the shoes, and happily join you for dinner (I’m a wee bit French). But I will pass on the puppy…
You know how to celebrate Bastille Day in the grandest way!
Hello Trish:
Yes, to the dress, the shoes, the puppy, the food, and to celebrate, My mothers fathers was French, so I best get out the fireworks and a good bottle of Champagne and go to Dance. I just picked up a book, _Remembrance of Things Paris_ ed. Ruth Reichl (food critic and ed. of Gourmet) that is filled with delightful essays of Paris, you’ll may enjoy it!
Happy Bastille Day!

Wow…you guys are so wonderful…another great tip! Thanks Joan!
Now THAT dress is a snappy little number!!!!!!!!!!Especially if you are wearing the hat!!!!! I suggest sipping an ice cold glass of dry French Rose with that Bouilliabaisse. Happy Bastille day!!!!! If I were there I’d challenge you to a game of French Boules or Petanque……(Notice I didn’t say if you were here because it’s too hot to play….)Maryanne xo
Alors…its getting hot here too, Maryanne! I have the Petanque balls out. Hoping to knock them about after dinner. I’ll have to resort to capris since I don’t have that saucy little ruffled number. And (but of course) the hat.
The dress is fabulous! Happy Bastille Day!
C’EST LA QUATORZE JUILLET !!!
Thank You Trish to think about us “French” – Greetings from Périgord – xxxkarin
A few years ago I was in Nice for Bastille Day. Boats, fireworks, and dancing that lasted all night. Absolutely beautiful. Thanks for reminding me! Barbara

Happy Bastile Day (yesterday). Darn, I missed it. Maybe I’ll celebrate this weekend with a French influenced meal. Love the dress and the dog!
Happy Bastile Day to you, as well. I am sorry to be a day late but I was actually at a Bastile Day celebration yesterday. Several years ago I happen to be in Paris for Bastile Day and watched the beautiful fireworks
around the Eiffel Tower from Champ de Mars which was the first place Bastile Day was officially celebrated.
It’s a wonderful memory…that I would love to repeat some day! Happy Bastile Day!
oh, I love Marie Paul Pelle, recognized this one immediately! Perfection. a happy late Bastille Day to you! gt
Oui Oui….love that dress! Beautiful!
Yes to the dress, but most of all yes to the new puppy talk.
Trish, I adore the fabulous dress and shoes, wow!
