My sister just sent me this gorgeous photo of her finished ciel de lit…
She had picked up the dilapidated wooden frame for a song at the
Atelier de Campagne container sale last Spring …see here and here
I’ve also written about Suki’s “Belgian Garage” earlier here
and another post about her home here
A great find, with lots of elbow grease and DIY ingenuity…
and just a tad of diplomacy towards a hunting enthusiast husband….
Sweet Dreams!
What a perfectly inviting room and I would say she is a clever girl. I enjoyed the background posts as well and so happy you provided the links as I am new to your blog. Enjoying it immensely, though it does want me wish to redecorate. Happy week.
Is this really your sisters? Would love to see the rest of her home. I could just crawl up in that sumptuous bed and stay forever. Love the deer mount. My husband would really love that.
Hi Mona…more of her house on this post here! Just a few weeks after she moved in last fall.
Gorgeous. Funny, my husband is a hunter, too, so I try to appease him with antlers in dough bowls and such. Your sister has done a fabulous job…I’m sure I would like her very much, I imagine we could trade stories of husbands’ hobbies.
Well that just knocks my socks off. I totally want to curl up in that room and sleep in.
Oh, how I love that bedroom…it is perfect. A million thanks for sharing.
Way to buck the system in decorating an interesting masterbedroom!
Love it.

Looks fabulous and I love the deer’s head – the perfect finishing touch.

p.s. I have a ciel de lit excatly the same but it is stored in the hall under the stairs – I may just have to bring it out 🙂
Your sister gets “points” for this one. I admire a woman who considers what her partner wants and goes on to create a warm, intimate space that speaks to both of them. I think I would dub this room “deerly beloved.” Love all of the textures here.
Your sisters home is beautiful but not sure if I could sleep with the deer but she worked it in well. I know men need to be included in our decorating but why?….lol. It’s a beautiful bedroom, thanks for sharing!…….Debra
Hi Trish!
It turned out just beautifully!!!! She did a great job! I love the single button tufting on the inside….. The girls in your family sure are talented! Maryanne xo
Just gorgeous! Love the combination and how it has been used..really succefull risky (deer head)which I allways find very appealing…Colette xx
Hi Trish,
Congratulations to your sister!! I have to admit that the bed is gorgeous! You know, this is a picture you might think to come right away from Côté Sud!!!!
Wonderful job your sister did!

Clever title! I love all that linen.
Your blog is amazing. I am so glad I found it. Cheers!
Wow. Very Out of Africa.
Love it!!! Amazing how it just all works together so beautifully.

Beautiful! Well done! I love every inch!
I had to read the comments. My husband is a hunter and I have 5 heads in my LR, in a row , high! I am always so careful when I show a photo not to include those heads!!! Made me feel so much better to read this. I think your sister’s bedroom is beautiful and I would love to see the rest of the home. Thank you so much for sharing!!!!
Anybody want to buy a couple of 10 pointer heads…. I am not kidding. lol
Your sister’s room looks fabulous. You know Bouillabaisse is the speciality from Marseilles and according to everybody my mum makes the best one.
I woke this morning needing eye candy, visited here and was not disappointed but then I never am when I come here.
