You can almost feel the weight of the old linen in this photo…
Voluminous swags casting from the ciel de lit
to form a lit à la polonaise …
the tone on tone drapes caught in shadowy folds…
Silky velvet quilt, casual striped, plain linen, arabesque patterned pillows…
piled on classic tufted linen French mattress…
worn limestone floor and faded fresco…
Would love to lift the master bedroom ceiling a few feet and
throw this up top…love that its neutral, rough, unshiny…
I know you’ve all seen this image but I thought you’d like to get a closer look…
Perfection….
The arch of thick limestone walls in the hallowed entry hall of an
17th-18th century Provençal farmhouse…littered tools
of a French country life juxtaposed with antique sconces
and lantern, an incredible limestone floor…

BEAUTIFUL!!
Linen and Limestone…..That bed crown treatment is gorgeous and it looks like interlined draperies giving it such wonderful bulk. The faded fresco is wonderful, too, just the basic elements of a wonderful French mas. You watch Trish now you’re going to see someone come up with a “Linen and Limestone”blog!!!!!Beautiful!Maryanne
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Love the entry hall. The design in the iron is what we are doing in the ‘juliette’ balcony off the back of our house…not sure what we will do inside, but this is a great inspiration!
For a minute I thought it WAS your house! Always love the counterpoints and the paradox. Somehow my tools untidied in my garage is not quite the same look as this magnificent stone hallway. I agree with BUC about the interlined drapes. I do that here In Kansas for added insulation, but it adds to the beauty as well.
Hi Trish,
Love all the beautiful pictures you have shared today, the entry hall looks so grand and welcoming.
I would love to curl up on the linen French mattress and rest a while, it does look so comfortable.
Happy weekend

Bonjour Trish,
So gorgeous! I love everything! Oh and I love limestone.
Bon week-end,
Mimi
The bed—so unbelievably beautiful. I can almost feel the linen between my fingers. Thanks.
Love this bed Trish, but my favourite picture is that lovely descente d’escalier with doors flung open onto the Provençal courtyard. The colours, the proportions, the shapes, everything is right.
