Rachel Riley
Loire 2006
“The valley of the river Loire is wide and open as an ocean’s estuary.
Stately poplar, dappled by the water’s reflected silver light, line its
banks, creating a shimmering view that Monet might have painted.
Along the river’s bluffs cluster sleepy pale stone villages or tracts of
verdant parkland elegantly punctuated with stately medieval châteaux,
eighteenth-century gentihommeries, and prim Second Empire mansions
where legions of Madame Bovarys must have sighed away their lives. “

They say that March comes in as a lion, goes out like a lamb…
Now that the growl of Winter is behind us, Spring is veritably
gamboling down our garden paths. I was struck by the pure
bliss in designer Rachel Riley‘s face…and of course
the roses nearly tumbling out of her full basket….
Château de la Roche Froissard
Tres magnifique!
Gorgeous and breathtaking images.
I am struck by Rachel’s shoes! *grin*
Ok – the flowers in her basket too!
Yes…love the shoes! Work equally well with flowing dress or tucked under antique “Marquise chairs in their original Belle Epoche brocade”.
I’m smitten with the pale blue color of the planters in the last image!
Yes…I was hoping y’all would notice that little detail. Love the pops of blue!
Me too on the shoes!! love them and love the life she is living in the Loire! Great lovely post as usual Trish!!

PS are you a closet Southerner, “y’all” ?
I’d love to say yes’m (I’d like to be at Round Top right about now) but sadly it’s just an affectation.
Trish,
I want to move from my desk and go there right now!!!!!!

As the look on her face bears witness, the Loire Valley is truly one of the most magical places on the planet.

Joy is a wonder to behold.
I adore how the cool aqua hallway enters into that warm golden room in your second pic, and that mantel is lovely.
Oh Trish, with your always amazing posts and pics. What a magical place. I would also kick of my shoes and be very content.
Happy Easter to you my friend.

P.S I wanted to put your logo/banner on my site but your banner set-up won’t let me. Is there another Trouvais mage I can use for that purpose?
Hi Trish,
You have shared a delightful post ~ thank you.
The pure look of happiness, and the basket of flowers, and the gardens of the Chateau de la Roch Froissard all are really beautiful.
Have a very happy Easter
Hugs
Carolyn
Trish,
Once again you astound me! You have such an incredibly well trained eye. Thank you for sharing such a great gift with us.
Although I did notice the shoes (lol), the fabric and colors, silly as it may sound, I was struck by the lack of molding around the door or in the next room. But yet how nicely finished it all is.
Bonjour,
Mon père a vécu son enfance dans ce chateau qui est le votre aujourd’hui (1938-1950), et nous aimerions savoir
si vous avez des photos récentes du chateau via internet que nous pourions voir?
avec tous nos remerciements,
cordialement virginie LORIN-DEWAELES
