Such ethereal beauty. I am not naturally drawn to bluey-grays, but am gobsmacked by the floor. My great grandfather was dutch. I love the image of him, then recently widowed with three young girls, and a new pioneer in Oklahoma, made them sweep the rocks he placed to outline a “sidewalk” to the front door. The sidewalk, of course, being the red clay of his new territory, not-yet a state. How differently he must have seen colors. No mist, no sea, just 360 degrees of open horizon and brilliant sky. The next year, he began his garden. First flowers, then vegetables.
