Suzanne Kasler’s home in Atlanta…
winemakers’ dinner to celebrate the alliance between
the High Museum of Art and the Musée du Louvre.
Accessories from Pierre Deux and gorgeous coarse tablecloth…
Still in love with simple homespun grain cloth….
A tall pile of my assorted flea market find grain sack pillows
showing the tones from oatmeal to wheat…
Incredible thick nubby texture has all the appeal
of linen without the wrinkles…
Soft silk ribbons and lavender sachets…
I’m starting to use my saved hemp and embroidered silk,
and linen/hemp bolts that I’ve held back for just the right project…
And gingerly cutting my favorite ribbons…why wait?
Christmas is the time to put things out, use things up,
give things away…
For all those who spent the year hunting and gathering…
there are wreaths and garlands to shape, tablecloths to
shake out, collections to polish or dust or soap up…
Christmas is full of artful arrangements
as well as the charmingly artless…
Happy December 1st!

I want that door. Is that your gazebo? I love the skirt on the table the color is rich.
Beautiful colors and pictures, I will take oatmeal.

I love the coarse texture and relaxed, rustic feel. And, it would be almost impossible to pull me away from that gorgeous wine-filled table at stylish Suzanne Kasler’s place. 🙂

Hi Trish!
Very pretty post! The table outside is wonderful…… I love Christmas simplicity with elegance…Thanks!
Hey Trish,
Love the texture of those grain sacks…and the rich colors. Happy December 1st to you too!
Each time I visit Trouvais I feel as through I have been transported for a few brief moments to a world apart. It’s like the best on-line design magazine out there–I anxiously await every new feature. I have a special fondness for the gorgeous handmade lavender sachets and that wonderful petal pink silk ribbon. And I think you finally hit upon why I am so taken with grain sacks–they don’t wrinkle!
