“The song of a wren echoed to infinity down the noiseless, empty
avenues, saturated with damp air and silence, with no obstacles to trap the sound“

and surprises, bold eccentricities and daring quirks, Madeleine Castaing
introduced her own imagined dreams…”

Dripping with age and mystery…
Some things I post about are very precious, unattainable
inimitable…but they fuel the engine of my beauty searching soul

Don’t have a source for top painting…if anyone knows please advise.
I love the poem about the blue wrens – our rose garden is full of their joyous song and they keep me company as I garden. Thank you for the lovely comment you left yesterday about our house and garden. Leigh
Hi Leigh. Your garden is extraordinary!
I used to stay on Rue Jacob about two blocks from Madeleine Castaing’s atelier. She was one of the best! I love the way she embraced imperfection in her design.
MC is a favorite. Love how literature and theater were her muses. That, and a very strong pull of her own heart’s free desires.
Trish,
I love antique fabrics or re-issues of them! You know that! Wonderful!

I think I know where this story is heading. We are all so very fortunate to be invited along on the adventures that “fuel the engine of {your} beauty searching soul”. How truly blessed we are with your contributions and how much creativity might never be awakened if the past creations of others were easily attainable commodities ~ readily and literally making their way into our own lives but failing to enrich us like our quest for the unattainable. You inspire us.

Ditto! What she said! (Jermaine)

One of my favourite designers and a favourite book. Lovely choice of images, xv.
Art really does complete the decor. It can be the crowning jewel of any room, no matter the style ….contemporary or traditional.
