Painted 19th century French chairs
with carved rose detail…
Will be reupholstered in Belgian linen…
eventually…
Inimitably aged aquas and blues…
beautifully carved old garden roses..
Bulletin board covered with family photos, clippings,
that’s my youngest upper right…almost off to college
So lucky to still have my mother…that’s her on the
left with my brother and I …
A lovely cluster of sea shells atop
a metal bead trimmed mirror…
Salvaged plaster cornice from an old French church…
makes a great cook book stand
So glad I saved these handwritten herb jars…
they have little votives in them now
Yes…those are odd little dragons as feet and little flowers at
the top. In the right light you can appreciate Astier de Villate’s
handmade irregularity…
Zinc steeple tops…
Love to bring garden elements inside as often as possible.
Just some of the slowly gathered favorites that make
up my home….
It’s all so beautiful…thank you for sharing !

Hi Trish,
I love seeing these bits and pieces of your home and of your self…..Those French chairs are fabulous and with the Belgium linen will be exquisite!
Take care, Laura
Very beautiful- would love to see more!
Trish,
Can’t tell you how much I enjoyed seeing the beautiful “Bits of Home” you shared with us. It is always interesting to see how someone with such a great eye for beauty filters and translates all of the amazing historical and visual references you store in that creative mind of yours into a space for their everyday living. Your elegance and style are written all over the gorgeous “bits” you have shared. Thank you.
Me again ~ loving to style kitchens as much as I do, I also wanted to say what a fabulous idea to use the antique cornice piece for a cookbook holder! I need to look for just such a piece, as I almost always display a cookbook when styling professional shoots and I can’t imagine anything more impressively beautiful for this purpose. Of course, I would put this prop to use in my own kitchen between shoots…you also have me looking for stone fragments of garden and architectural elements for that “undertable scape” you suggested for my outdoor entry table…love all your ideas ~ keep them coming!
Thank you all. I think I paid about $14 for that cornice couple years ago, French Kissed. You’re a consummate thrifter…I’d love to see what you come up with.
I so enjoyed this glimpse at some of the beautiful things in your home – I love everything! Leigh
Beautiful. Everything I imagined and more
So fun to see YOUR home amidst all the beauty! Even more stunning than imagined… Always lovely when I peek in here…
Hugs
Ulla

Those clay votives were amazing…have a number of them and the fragrance remains…wish they were still available…purchased in the ’70s.
Love the Assiete, love this blog. Marnie
