Hi
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I have had your website on my list to post about for a while and it is going up tomorrow. How strange this blogging world is. By the way your site is fabulous.
I can’t tell you how much I absolutely adore your site. If it’s OK with you, I’d like to use a few of your pics and link to you on a blog post so others might find you too! Your posts all about textiles lately have made my heart sing! As for the gold mesh necklace you asked about…this is ribbonwork but it is made with metallic mesh ribbon. I’m not sure where you live but Tinsel Trading in NYC has a wonderful supply of this gold metal ribbon that you could purchase…you can then follow the instructions in Helen Gibb’s Ribbonwork book and you could create something that would look strikingly similar. Hope this helps. I’m heading to NYC next Thurs/Fri and, if you like, I’m happy to snap a few pics and get prices for you while I’m there….it won’t be cheap…they have a website but don’t normally put their beautiful vintage stuff online.
Hi Susan. Thank for the compliments and all the info. You are more than welcome to use any pics you want. And I would LOVE it you could take pictures of some of the vintage metal ribbon at Tinsel Trading (or anything else incredible). Metallic embroidery/ribbonwork seems very hot now (or maybe I’m just getting around to noticing it). The necklace was gorgeous but over my price “set point” for frivolous. Sigh.
Oh, the shoe photo and the last photo…actually all, are fantastic!
Its amazing the amount of work that goes into things, always look forward to reading your posts, Cheers!
