I have a HUGE French ribbon sample book c1907, 1913.

in paris for the week and just bought two intact sample textile books from 1858. fantastic.
includes the textile samples and the varnished painted originals as well as drawings for looms and threading. ‘wow’ is all i can say.
Sounds wonderful! How lucky you are!
I am particularly interested in 18th century hand embroidery and studying textiles. Does anyone know of the existence of embroidery sample books from the period or museum collections that I might visit?
