18th century Italian School oil painting…just listed on Ebay by Magdalene of Pillows et Plus. She shows the painting both in and out of the accompanying 19th c frame…but I must admit, I love the look of dark unframed portraits against whitewashed walls. She will be listing the crystal chandelier you can see in the bed photo here as well.. as soon as she can have it wrestled down and photographed. Magdalene is making serious dents in her collections…looking forward and starting fresh. I’m inspired!
Marnie Poms is one of my earlier readers, one with whom I’ve exchanged many private emails over the years. She started Ciara Dolce Caramels here in 2005, inspired by her Italian grandmother. She’s just learning her way around Facebook here. Marnie sent me a link to some gorgeous antique Turkoman tribal jewelry she is selling on Ebay here…

If you have time, watch the short video of Marshal and Marilyn R. Wolf. It’s a wonderful perspective on collecting and sharing your passion.
Maison French Kissed here
and here
Jermaine of French Kissed is one of my oldest blog buddies. When I stayed with her in Santa Barbara several years ago she showed me her closets full of the “props” she uses for her Real Estate staging business, upgrading already impressive homes with her fantastic styling. The woman knows how to shop….and opened her own shop on Etsy, Maison French Kissed, right before Thanksgiving last year. She’s a year older than me…had been an empty nester longer…with daughters settled in New York and Paris…but I am doing my best to follow in her footsteps!

Is it possible to have too much Bella Notte? Well…yes….
So…I am thinking of doing a little Trouvais virtual garage sale soon. Trouvais has been all about finding and collecting since I started my blog in 2009. Bella Notte, Quartermaine, a few antique textiles…March is the perfect month to start a little Spring cleaning! It’s not always easy letting go…but we all need a little editing from time to time!
When my best friend from college visits…she walks through my home and says…”how about this….or this?” I usually say…no…and no. Maybe I’m softening with old age!

Looking forward to the “garage sale”!!
Love your “finds”…love the tribal jewelry and love the decanters from your friend ‘French Kissed’, particularly the one with the deers!
Looking forward to what will come up at your ‘garage’ sale! Don’t sell too much, you’ll might regret it one day…., like I do for some of the pieces I’ve sold, only because being in a “clearing” mood.
Great post on – again – a greyish Monday!!! Snowed-in here and I’m staying in company with my hot water bottle; and will now pop-over to the link you gave us generously!
XOX, karin
Trish, this is surreal! I’m right with you! Here I am emptying blue box after blue box wondering where to put it all in the new remodelled space…Karin is right…what to part with, what to keep!! It must be the stage in life we are at now..I have decided if it is not functional and beautiful at the same time…out it goes! Form over function isn’t working for me any more! We all need to follow in Jermaine’s footsteps, virtual or not. I am taking a break after five days of moving in, and checking out the links you so graciously share with us…the boxes aren’t going anywhere! N.xo
Trish such beautiful pieces! I do know how difficult it is to give up special mementos.

I have been feeling guilty about wanting to pull a lovely old portrait out of its gilded aged frame, but I too love them just plain. Out of the frame it comes today. Thank you for the inspiration.
Trish,
Like you and Jermaine, I’ve found that I want more space in my cupboards and have been selling some of my things on eBay. Our sons are both married and I believe the items I had convinced myself would someday end up in their homes aren’t quite their look, something I can totally understand.
It will be fun to see what, if anything, you can part with!

Wonderful finds-hopped right over to Maison French Kissed -beautiful shop. I have a penchant for unframed oils propped on tables not hung..love that look!
These goodies are gorgeous Trish… I would love to see what you decide to ‘move’ about.. if you do…
Have a wonderful weekend… xv
All great finds…… I willl be curious to see what stays and what goes in your home…… But don’t stress if the Bella Notte outlet is in your area. And I agree Jermaine’s finds are great….. Love that Perfume bottle. Maryanne xo
