Last year’s antique Bourbon roses..my favorites Madame Issac Perrier et Madame Ernest Calvat paying a visit. A link to years of my roses here. My husband’s working late today, my children miles away in their respective worlds.
But this weekend we will all be under one roof and celebrate three birthdays and Valentines. Heaven!
Title photo is an 18th century French prayer card “canivet pieuse”..the three little hearts in une petit bateau tugged at my heartstrings! If you don’t see the image…click the post title.
Sometimes Valentine’s Day is a state of mind. Have a wonderful day!

Where does one purchase Caroline Quartermaine fabric??? I longer keep accounts with fabric companies and my Google attempts are useless. HELP!!!

Happy Valentine’s Day…wish we could have thrown together a little tea party. Your weekend does sound like heaven…I agree that Valentine’s Day can be a state of mind…so let”s continue to immerse ourselves in romantic living a la old roses and Quartermaine lace…and even gorgeous husbands when they are not away engaged in the noble task of saving lives.

Trish,
Such serenity in a picture. I love your roses and hope to grow one or more of them this year.

Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day & did I see someone mention a birthday? –A Birthday is just the first day of another 365 day journey around the sun. Enjoy the trip. Happy Birthday!
Your post is beautiful, if my mother was still with us, she would have adored it. Her mother was a lace maker, and taught my mother at the age of 4 how to do all the needlework. My mother through the years earned a deep appreciate for the artisan craft makers & their beautiful works. Thank you for keeping this love & appreciate alive.
Being it is the week end of the heart… remember that everyone is the age of their heart. Stay forever young….
