A year of “nice to meet you”s and pretty pictures….
Still here after 280 posts…
425, 223 views…
4,282 photos in my media file…
Many new friends …

You know I love antique textiles, don’t you?
One of the treasures that caught my eye…
Antique French linen chemise….
perfect garb for plucking roses in the morning
I guess I’ve collected enough of them…
An 18th century portrait on a round ivory box …
for patches…snuff…?
look at the lace detail, the stripes…
Someone treasured this centuries ago and kept it in their pocket….
David Austin”s modern English roses Cressida and Abraham Darby
in front of Wisteria’s faux vintage French flea market paperbacks…
My garden gives me balance and rewards my efforts…
Occasional misfortune is usually countered with
serendipitous beauty, unexpected rewards…
It gives much more than it takes…
Being the most economical start to a 1939 fixer upper…
my love of gardening inevitably moved indoors….
I love the concept of moving the outside in …
as well as moving the inside out…
Huge 36″ diameter aged terra cotta garden pot…
Love architectural salvage and classical details…
if this wasn’t so heavy I’d probably move it inside…
I sometimes think of putting a round stone top on it
for alfresco salads..champagne? Wish you could
drop by….
Bella Notte’s Whisper and quilted Colette…
and stacks of vintage and antique French linen…
Vintage hand loomed textures, quilting, gold and pink tones….
Here the gold and pink is heightened with thrift shop aqua lace on pillows…
a pretty bohemian style….
Gorgeous antique bed from Atlanta Bartlett again

Thank you. My peace has returned. I break my silence to congratulate you on one year and the giving of wonderful gifts. My heart and eyes thank you. Martha
Congratulations! Trish you have continually graced us with stunning photographs and well-written and informative articles with a soft over voice. Post after post is always elegant, exquisite, and inspiring…your garden is breathtaking. Showcasing architectural elements by bringing them inside is a marvelous idea and would work in any style home or pocket book.
I just wish I would have paid more attention to my mother and grandmother when they were alive for they too were into the beautiful world of textiles. My muse is the garden and garden architectural elements.

Congratulations on your 1 year of blogging, your blog is fabulous and I check it so often to look at all the beauty you put on display. Just a question. Where do you buy your antique fabrics and objects, and how do you know if it’s really old? I got so inspired by your things, that I was surfing the web for lovely things, but am always a bit hesitant, any tips??
hope we can enjoy your blog for another year !!!
Thank you, Solange. Good questions. I love Ebay…many great sellers with well deserved great feedback. The more I trust the source, the more I’m willing to pay. If it seems believable, its beautiful and the price is good…I’ll take a leap of faith on a new seller. Unless I’ve got my eye on something and don’t want competition on a bid (!!!) I’ll tell you my sources.
Congratulations Trish!!! I am so glad I met you! Your blog is a delight in blogland!
xx

Happy blogaversary!
I’ve been an avid follower for quite awhile – but I don’t *think* I was here at the very beginning.
But I’m so happy to be here at the beginning of the next year!
Lovely photos – and YES, I think a slab of marble on that urn would make a marvelous serving stand/table!
fabulous – stunning, really – roses. I love roses in French florists’ tin pails!
It’s been wonderful to share this year with you. I know that textiles are your passions. I think you are even more and more passionate than me
