Greet Lefèvre of Belgian Pearls has beautiful Belgian style…
The second thing I love about blogging is meeting far flung talent like Greet.
In real time I get a design perspective from halfway around the world.
An interior decorator, wife and mother, together with her brother,
Greet runs a family owned business of cabinetmakers, for the fourth generation.
Through her eyes I can see her Belgium, and it’s absolutely beautiful.

Running a cabinetmaker’s business, you can tell she appreciates wonderful wood…
Too many gorgeous photos to choose from in a blog just started last summer.
Greet takes us to Brussels antique dealers open houses here,
castle tours here, and here, a comprehensive post on Belgian kitchen design here,
her orangery here ,and shows us her husband working on the roof
of their outbuilding here.
Brasserie Notarishuis in Belgium
She shows us the color and drama that add that extra edge to true Belgian style…
A dedicated disciple of fellow Belgian Axel Vervoordt,
she is also an admirer of Lars Sjöberg’s Swedish style…
” an art historian and curator of the National Museum of Stockholm.
He is a well-known author of beautiful published books about Swedish furniture.”
More of post here
In addition to all her gorgeous photos, first person tours,
on the ground “reporting” on true Belgian style, Greet is a very supportive
and delightful fellow blogger…and a pleasure to know.

Hi Lee. I’m working on a project now with lime paint. Several of Greet’s photos are steering me in the direction I want to go.

Hi Trish!
I think it is great that you and Greet have complimented each other so well.. I want to go antiquing with you both. Her images are just beautiful and I think it is about time that Belgium gets the design nod after France being in the forefront for so long. I am a card carrying Francoplile but what is it called when you are a fan of Belgium?????

Belgianista? Texas or Belgium or France…I’d love to go Flea-ing with you. We’d have to figure out a way of settling disputes, though. Think we all have the same eye.

We are all certainly enriched by Greet’s entry into the blogging world. She is amazingly talented and so very gracious. I love getting to “visit” her in Belgium while receiving a fine education in Belgian design. But we are also blessed to have the wonderful opportunity to visit Trouvias and to enjoy all the beauty you bring our way. I always learn so much from both of you!

Thank you for all your comments! I’d bet everyone who blogs has had the thought “why am I doing this” cross their mind occasionally (when a post that was supposed to be simple ends up taking *cough* several hours?!). But your lovely comments just make this odd drive to capture, study, record beautiful design a heartwarming venture. Merci!

I don’t have a blog….nor a website! I am a decorator…..(so sorry..but some don’t know)
For 40 years!
Greet has a fabulous eye……I love her blog!
Greet! Sorry to be a pain! I loved your old logo with those gorgeous pearls………oh well……. I am old and probably passe!!
In any case…….I love Belguim! I haven’t been there….but my mother (who taught me everything I know)….told me it was her favorite country. NOW my grandaughter comes back from living in Spain for a year….and touring all over the place.
I asked her (sorry! she is 11..she was 9 and then 10 living in Europe with her family) so…I asked her…..what was your favorite place in europe ? “Bruges”! Not a second of thought or hesitation! “Why?” I said.
“Because of its beauty and quiet. granny…..you have GOT TO GO TO BELGIUM EVERYTHING I SAW I KNEW YOU WOULD LOVE!”
QUITE A REVIEW FROM A 10 year old!
I adore your blog…..Thank you!
