If you ever feel like crawling back to bed (or not getting out)…
How about hiding behind a few lengths of deeply embroidered silk bed drapery…?

or cloudy, gray and still…
Every once in a while birds fly in an alarmed flurry past my windows…

Power out last night and again most of today…
Cooked simple meals and read by candle light
All the assorted candles holders came out…
Actually a little bit wonderful…

Hi Trish,
I would love to be at that table with candle lights! So romantic!
And silk fabrics are so beautiful and so nice to touch isn’t it !

As frustrating as it can be when the power goes out, it really does force us be completely in the moment, undistracted and to put all virtual pursuits aside. A time to rediscover the ambiance of candle light and a sustained connection with the dear hearts that populate our real world. These beautiful images are inspiring me to FAKE a power outage tonight when my husband comes home. No TV, no computers, –off with the cell phones–just soft candle power and a little battery operated music. P.S.–The bath in my fantasy chateau would look exactly like the gorgeous one you show here!
Love the look of the wash room and the kitchen at lower. We lived over 20 years without power, candles every night.

Stop it, stop it Trish, your hurting me… such beauty… I am lovesick, I will take one of everything. All kidding aside, you do have the loveliest blog.
I love the smooshed bust.
